i heart rock N roll

Hot September in the desert of Nevada, sleepless in sin city. Even hotter is atmosphere generated by the wall-to-wall packed fans gathered for one and only annual iHeartRadio Music Festival. I was very lucky to be one of them and experience these unmatched musical acts from Avril Lavigne, Justin Timberlake to old schools Joan Jett, Elton John, Paul McCartney and one of my personal favorites Queen. There is no better word to express how I felt than the exact print on my T-shirt – it’s called “ADDICTION”..

Pacific Rain

Somehow rain always followed me this summer wherever I headed. It’s like I need a Pacific storm from time to time to wash away so much dryness in me without single drop since forever ago in California. It’s perfect time to put on my high-low watercolor dress from Forever 21 and enjoy the serenity and freshness blessed by the rain..

Graffiti, sunset and bus pavilion

Graffiti paints glass walls, sunset gilds bus pavilion; an ordinary afternoon in late summer, a rarely peaceful street in a bustling city. Mulberry Alexa - one of my favorites - cool girl sensibility, with boyish spirit, together with bebe top & shorts - just enjoy the final moments of summer 2013.

Summer Gray

Recently I traveled to the lovely Pacific Northwest, it was raining all the time along the way. I really don’t mind a little bit gray in summer that rarely happens in California. Walk along Willamette River in Portland, turn off my phone and just enjoy this quiet morning with fresh air, wind caressing my hair and listen to raindrops till the city and its busyness gradually blur in the rearview and all the noise is washed away.

Idyllic Quiet of Nature
I love “big trees”. Redwood national park is definitely one of my favorites, with California coastal redwoods, the tallest living creatures on our planet, 300 feet tall, 20 feet across. This is where I turned into a kid again, jumping up and down. Put on my Nike Hally Hoop, carefree American Rag shirt with indie vibe and short jeans. I just felt like part of the forest and indulged myself in the idyllic quiet of nature.

Summer Blue

I’ve written before about how much I love layered skirt. Seriously ladies, they’re like my style staple of the summer. I was browsing some of my favorite online shopping haunts the other day and came really close to pulling the trigger on something else, but inevitably ended with this awesome layered ombré maxi skirt. It’s lightweight, very comfortable and easily dressed up or down for any events. When heat wave hits, it is a great alternative to shorts or other skirts.

Eureka getaway
About 5 hour driving North from San Francisco, just off California's scenic redwood highway lies Eureka, a cute little town as home to big trees, beautiful victorian era art and architectures. Walking around "old town" - the heart of Eureka, is definitely a pleasure experience. Filling the victorian storefronts are shops locally owned and operated from flower shop, book store, coffee shop to small boutique. Weather was nice, people were friendly, I had a wonderful time ! By the way, if you have chance to visit Eureka, don't miss the Carson mansion - an exuberance and superb execution of Victorian architecture.
